Latest Updates

We are pleased to be able to confirm our first event of the 2022 season. The British Phantom Aviation Group will be attending the Falklands 40th Anniversary/Cold War Call Up at Newark Air Museum on the weekend of 30th April/1st May. XV490’s cockpits will be open for visits, our merch/display stall will be on site and the event will also feature a range of other presentations, displays and artifacts relevant to the two themes. An aeroboot sale will also take place on the Saturday (30th).

Our ever popular Spook t-shirts and hoodies are now available featuring the new version of the BPAG logo.

T-shirts are screenprinted in full colour on a heavyweight cotton short sleeved t-shirt by Gildan. The front print, on the left breast, is the new BPAG logo and the rear features a back print with an enlargement of the Spook. Available in sizes S – XXXL.

Hoodies are screenprinted in full colour on a heavyweight (280 g/m) cotton/polyester hooded top by AWDis. The garment features a full zip, front pockets and ribbed cuffs and hem. Available in sizes M – XXL.

As seen in some of the recent pictures from Manston, we have obtained a number of 5-ton hydraulic jacks to aid the dismantling process, which are a gift from BPAG management stalwart Mike Davey. These will not be used to raise up the aircraft, but to stabilise and support the fuselage and wing during the engine removal process, the same technique we have used successfully in the past. The BPAG are very lucky that Mike had the foresight to acquire such useful but unglamorous pieces of equipment such as this and we are grateful for his continued generosity in donating and sharing items from his inventory.

These are original official Phantom 30th Anniversary patches, manufactured back in the day for the display crews and donated to the BPAG by Nigel Marks, who was navigator of the RAF’s F-4 display crew during the 1990 season. Featuring the aircraft itself, the Spook and the ‘Phantoms Phorever’ legend, this traditional style woven cloth patch measures approximately 8.5cm diameter/3.5inches (the standard military patch size) and has a merrowed edge, to strengthen and avoid fraying. These are a bit pricier than our currently produced patches, because they are genuine new old stock collectors items. They are also very limited in numbers- we only have 15 and when they are gone, they are gone! Check them out here- http://www.phantomerchandise.co.uk/patches/vintage-30th-anniversary-patch
