Latest Updates

We have recently received a kind donation of a number of original F-4J(UK) parts from Mr Jamie White after he read about the restoration project on social media. We would like to say a big thank you to Jamie for reaching out and offering these instruments, which we believe may come from ZE360 herself. The presence of North Island NARF stickers confirms them as definitely from an F-4J(UK).

If you have or know of someone who may have parts that could help with ZE360’s restoration, please do get in touch. We will be very interested to hear from you. You can contact us here.

Today sees the 30th anniversary of ZE360`s delivery flight from RAF Wattisham to Manston where she would take on the new role as a training aid at the resident fire training school. The aircraft was delivered by pilot Ian Hargreaves and navigator Ray Jones, who attempted a Mach 2 power run over the North Sea en-route. This was aborted at Mach 1.96 when an intake ramp went out of phase causing the right engine to surge.

More information on the aircraft and its history can be found here and pics of the current restoration work are available in the ZE360 Restoration Gallery.

New patches in stock now!

Based on an original McDonnell Douglas design which was used during the roll out ceremony of the F-4K in June 1966, this traditional style woven cloth patch expands on the original by adding airframe details and the F-4K legend.

This traditional style woven cloth patch measures approximately 8.5cm diameter/3.5inches (the standard military patch size) and has a merrowed edge, to strengthen and avoid fraying. Available from the BPAG webstore now. All profits will go to support BPAG activities.

The latest UK lockdown has meant that work on ZE360 is on pause once again. However, we do have a backlog of spares and parts that continue to be refurbished offsite. We also continue to receive generous donations from our supporters. The latest of these is this Attitude Direction Indicator (ADI) a major element of the front cockpit instrument panel. The donor in this instance wishes to remain anonymous but they know who they are and we are very grateful for this generous gift.

By the way, it’s not just instruments that we welcome as donations. If you have anything Phantom related taking up space and you’d like to see it as part of a larger future collection, please let us know. You can contact us here.
