To mark the recent allocation of the 19 Sqn designation to the CRC facility at Boulmer, XV415 has had a repaint.
Although the aircraft itself never served with 19 Sqn, the unit operated the FGR.2 as part of RAFG between 1977-92 and deployed to Cyprus during Desert Storm in 1990.
Many thanks to Dennis Ineson for providing the pic.
Many thanks to everyone who took time to visit XV490, browse the stalls or stop and chat at last weekend’s Cold War Call Up. It was a pleasure to welcome you all.
If you purchased BPAG merchandise, you have made a valuable contribution to our cause and we are very much appreciate your support. We also received some very welcome donations, in the form of both cash and components for which we are very grateful, so thanks to you also.
As ever, a round of applause goes to the BPAG team of members and volunteers as well our ex-aircrew friends who lead the cockpit tours. Next up is Cosford Airshow in 12th June. We look forward to seeing some of you there.
Further to last month’s announcement of XV490’s appearance at Newark Air Museum’s Cold War Call Up, we are now able to confirm that XV490 will be once again be attending various events over the 2022 spring/summer period.
These events will provide you with opportunities for cockpit visits as well as chances to meet and chat with ex-F4 aircrew and groundcrew members. Exclusive Phantom merchandise will also be available at some events.
These are the dates confirmed so far, extra details will be forthcoming in the run up to each event. Watch this space. Hope to see you all there!
